How Not to Give Up On Yourself

_1_the_only_failure_in_life_is_giving_up_on_yourself__your_hopes_and_dreams“The only failure in life is giving up on yourself, your hopes and dreams.” #evelynlimcoach

What happens when you give up on yourself?

It can literally mean death. You are basically saying “no” to life. On the contrary, as long as you are in the game, you are still participating in the here and now. Of course, it does not mean that you have achieved worldly success but neither, have you failed.

If you have intense thoughts of giving up on yourself, know that you are not alone. I have walked the alleys of darkness a few times in my life and it is definitely not a place to dwell in. Over the past few years, as an energy healing practitioner , I have also discovered that there are many who are afflicted with depression at one point in their life.

Do know that depression over prolonged periods of time can lead to thoughts of suicide. Please seek professional help. Do not procrastinate. To get well, you definitely need love and support.

It is best to arrest the situation early when you feel as if you are draining of hope. Lean on the survival instinct that is innate and trust that you have got what it takes to figure a way out. You don’t give up yet! Bear in mind that everyone has a choice. We can choose to see the stars or we can choose the mud. The choice determines which thought we pay attention to.

Where It All Began

It begins with thought. There is the thought that your situation is hopeless. There is the thought that you are hopeless. There is the thought that you have failed. You identify with the physical situation and thought after thought, a story is created in your mind.

Then, there is also the emotion. You feel the suffering. You identify with the thought and the emotion that goes along with it. You feel them in the body. As Eckhart Tolle is likely to put it, they become part of your pain body.

The story of fear is a concoction of the ego, who loves drama. It enjoys hooking onto negativity. In fact, you may even realize that the ego actively finds fault, seeks blame and reacts in anger mostly based on a tiny false perception.

Your ego enjoys the fantasy of failure. It cast dust clouds over your dreams. You can possibly identify so much with the clouds of doubt that you forget that you have a soul.

This is when you give up on your dreams and hopes. Realise this: A poor me syndrome is associated with poverty consciousness. You buy into the illusion of fear, weakness and limitation. With an ego in charge, you could hold yourself back from living up to your full potential.

Meditation

One great way for non-attachment or detachment is via a mindfulness practice or meditation.

Simply become aware that you are an observer, neither identifying nor grasping to our mental and emotional pain.

Projections of the Ego MindYou also become aware that your story is created from fear.

You are not the thought borne out of the story that is not real.

You are anything but the story of limitation in your mind.

Thus, to break the assembly line of thought or your story is to start with awareness.

Use the Power of the Mind

Use your mind positively and powerfully to create a different reality.

You detach yourself from the thought and emotion that is causing the suffering.

You also detach yourself from the pain-body identification with the physical situation that you are in.

At the same time, you create thoughts that are more empowering and in support of your dreams.

Our mind is so powerful and we really don’t use it to full capacity. I think most people freak out over what others think, and forget to think for themselves. Very inspiring post, Evelyn!

I agree with Evelyn! The true success in life is to live in alignment with our highest potential. We make a promise to ourselves that we will never give up, no matter how challenging things are. By encouraging ourselves in positive self-talk, we become our own best friend. We integrate purpose in what we do, so that we can create the best life for ourselves. Your thoughts is so powerful. Be a positive self-talk, learn to encourage yourself rather than giving up and discouraging yourself. Giving up your dreams , hopes , and most especially yourself is like suicide / death. Most people will get tired and give up. Get up rather than give up. Giving up brings head trash. Positive self-talk will get you unstuck , overcome set-backs , and fast-track your life!
