How to Internally Align With Financial Abundance

I was being asked this question by a reader who emailed in: why do all the spiritual gurus and experts say that we are abundant when the evidence in our current financial situation appears to be pointing otherwise? The reader has been feeling utterly confused. She finds it hard to believe that she can become financially wealthy from working in a paid-by-the-hour job.

Things I wish For
(Financial Abundance Wish: What Things Can I Buy with More Money?)

Well, the answer to the reader’s question is this: there is every opportunity to increase financial abundance. Opportunities are available because ideas are abundant. And it is possible for anyone to can tune into them. Yet, we have not been able to recognize ideas because we have little clarity. Our minds are clouded because we have bought into certain misbeliefs and at the same, we are being obscured by emotional clutter.

Our inner state of consciousness influences our outer experiences of abundance. Hence, if we are hoping to improve our outer experiences of abundance, we need to start from within. Not many of realize this. We spend much of our lives trying to rearrange the external components of our lives. We try to seek for solutions outside of ourselves rather than look inwards. When we do so, we put ourselves into a state of struggle.

It’s funny that we would attempt to solve problems not at the level that they were created. A few days ago, someone told me that investigating into root triggers is not important to solving issues at hand. I beg to differ. We investigate into root causes not for the purposes of dwelling into the past; but for the purpose of dissipating the negative energies that we hold on to regarding the past. We need to build awareness of where our blocks are. Only when we let them go, can there be space for us to align into the new. And suddenly, we start to enjoy the benefits of having the light of awareness.

“Most new discoveries are suddenly-seen things that were always there. A new idea is a light that illuminates presences which simply had no form before the light fell on them.”
— Susan Langer

The pains and struggles that we experience externally are merely projections of the chaos and conflicts that we have internally. To align with financial abundance consciousness is to undertake necessary internal shifts. We hope to be aligned with the capacity to “fullness” in order to attract more “fullness”, by virtue of law of attraction. To make an internal alignment, four steps are outlined below:

1. Bust the myths. Many of us have bought into a number of myths. Unfortunately, mostly, we have not been consciously aware that this is the case. For instance, one common myth is that it is just “too difficult” or “takes too much effort” to become financially successful.

Without an intent to make an internal shift, it would be difficult to change the beliefs that are already hardwired in us. Over time, we have also accumulated a set of personal experiences that validated these beliefs. In the meantime, science has proven that this much is true: our minds draw evidence to support the hypothesis that it is already having.

So, what if the beliefs that we hold on have been false in the first place? Then, aren’t we collecting evidences to support false beliefs? Can you see how dangerous this can be? Holding on to the wrong set of beliefs can potentially set us up for having less-than-satisfactory lives.

To dispel myths, we need to begin by asking better and more probing questions. We need to examine the beliefs and thoughts we hold. Let’s go back to the same belief on that it is just “too difficult” or “takes too much effort” to become successful. Ask yourself on what basis do you say that things are “difficult” or what happens if financial success comes from doing work that you love? Will it be “too much effort” or would work feel more like play?

2. Be on the lookout for ideas. What is to know is this: every flourishing of prosperity starts with a single idea. Those who have understood the rules of the game know that money is just an idea. In the book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” Robert Kiyosaki says, “It’s what is in your head that determines what is in your hands.”

All self-made people have had humble beginnings before becoming truly wealthy. They started with a single idea and transform it into something big. They were dreamers, open to the use of their imagination. Some ideas that have made millions of dollars are really simple ones to begin with.

Alchemy is about having the ability to make gold from your ideas. The following is what I have written in my book, Abundance Alchemy: Journey of Gold, about the abundance alchemist…

“Operating from abundance consciousness, the alchemist understands that ideas are readily available. Hence, it does not mean that he cannot become rich just because someone else has already done so. Neither does it mean that should he become rich, he is depriving someone else of an opportunity to.

There are plenty of ideas that he or anyone else can tap into. His task is simply to spot the one that is best aligned with who he is. Even if times are tough, he has a positive mindset. Recessions are wonderful opportunities to start doing something new. Investments are much cheaper to make, for one thing.”

3. Release emotional clutter. Most people fail to recognize opportunities because they are seized by their negative emotions. They are unable to sniff out the opportunity right under their noses. Their emotional clutter prevents them from having clarity. They find themselves battling their fears, worries and insecurities mostly.

However, what is known is that when one can learn how to recognize opportunity, one will be able to do so for the rest of his life. Such a person is able to see what others have missed. Life becomes a constant stream of making gold out of the stream of opportunities. There is much truth in the adage, “The rich gets richer.” To learn more about doing emotional clearing work, click here.

“When riches begin to come, they come so quickly, in such great abundance, that one wonders where they have been hiding all those lean years.”
— by Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich

4. Awaken creative abilities. Many of us are in work that is not in alignment with our true heart’s desires. We have simply taken on the work that we do because it helps us pay our bills. In the process, we have largely neglected our creative side.

Keeping a lookout for ideas is not enough. Very importantly, we need to apply our creative abilities in turning an idea into something workable. Creativity is about being able to see a solution when no one else can. We are able to think out-of-the-box and create a marketplace around the product or service arising from the idea.

“He (The alchemist) turns his long held idea into a business, should the chance arise. Recession is a great time to sniff out bargains. He buys into panic and sells into greed on the stock market.” — Abundance Alchemy: Journey of Gold

Evelyn,
This very much reminds me of a book I have just finished reading – “Manifesting Change”, by Mike Dooley. The basic premise of the book is that our thoughts, coupled with just putting ourselves “out there”, with put the Universe in action to help us. To that – if we have positive thoughts about money (and present tense positive thoughts), and then just put ourselves out there – the Universe will conspire to help us (just as it does when we have negative thoughts….it conspires to help validate those thoughts).

Anyway, love this Evelyn – your words always touch me in some special way…

Hello Lance,

I have not got the chance to read Mike Dooley’s book yet. I have been enjoying his newsletter for some time now. What you have shared from his book is something that I believe in as well. And I’m pretty sure that it’s been your experience too 🙂

Thanks for being an important part to my journey. I appreciate your friendship and support!

Oh, I like this very much! Especially the busting the myths section. I so agree with the need to go deep to discover the blocks and the basic assumptions that hold us back. I like what you said about how we will find evidence to support our hypothesis. We need to identify our hypotheses and release them when they don’t serve us.

So much wisdom. You are an alchemist indeed!

Hello Galen,

I have been irritated with myself for having allowed some of my misbeliefs or myths to hold me back. So I am on a journey to get past them and move into the new. It’s my wish to assist others in seeing that for themselves too. We can all help to support one another.

Thank you for your encouragement and support 🙂

Hi Evelyn,

“Opportunities are available because ideas are abundant.” I love this statement because it is true and a much needed reminder for us all. But as you rightly point out, our inner state of consciousness can affect our ability to tap into the abundance around us. By addressing the root cause of the problem, the symptoms will automatically disappear. We get double the results for the effort we put in. I feel that all the steps you have outlined for financial abundance are useful and relevant. Here are some of the thoughts that came to mind as I read them.

1. Bust the myths

Whatever thoughts or preconceptions we may have about financial abundance could affect our ability to have said abundance. Starting here and busting the myths does clear our inner obstacles and pave the way for us. After all, whatever we can achieve in life is limited by our thoughts and beliefs. It is also these very thoughts and beliefs that can serve as stumbling blocks to prevent us from having financial abundance. Clear them and we have a smoother road to travel on.

Instead of saying something cannot be done, we should assume we can do it if we can find the way. The right question then is how can we find a solution to achieve that goal.

2. Be on the lookout for ideas

I love this. Ideas are the very thing that drives the world forward. If we make the effort to keep on generating ideas sooner or later we will find one or a few ideas that will help us to have financial abundance. The more revenue streams we have the more abundant we will be.

4. Awaken creative abilities

This is one of the most important skills to have because it will help us to generate ideas that allow us to have financial abundance. Luckily for us, it is not a skill that is available to a select few. Any one of us can be creative if we take the effort to learn to do so. There are many books on creativity out there. But I know that if we want to be financially abundant, it pays to give your book Abundance Alchemy a read for the wisdom it contains.

Thank you for sharing this lovely article with us! 🙂

Hello Irving,

I enjoy connecting with you. We share so many similar ideas. With regards to

1. Bust the myths

You said, “Instead of saying something cannot be done, we should assume we can do it if we can find the way. The right question then is how can we find a solution to achieve that goal.” I love this. You sound like my husband, who’s always giving me the same advice!

2. Be on the lookout for ideas

You said, “The more revenue streams we have the more abundant we will be.” Exactly what I am trying to do. I don’t always make the right decisions but I keep trying.

4. Awaken creative abilities

Exactly! How each of us express ourselves differ. We need to find the ways that best expresses who we are. We use our knowledge, intellect and talents to turn an idea creatively into something meaningful for ourselves and others too.

Thank you, Irving, for your support. You’ve been awesome!

Abundance always,
Evelyn

Hi Evelyn,
I’ve been giving alot of thought lately to limiting beliefs. I grew up thinking that struggling for money is just the way it is. Struggling just to get by is a fact of life. And working jobs that are demeaning is just something that everyone has to do. These are myths that I’ve fortunately put to rest. I’ve proven them wrong. Now I’d like to go a step further into abundance. Thanks for this inspiring piece!!

Hi Evelyn,

thank you for a very inspiring article.
That’s a big idea of abundance. It’s not (always) money that is around us in infinite abundance. You are right, it’s ideas and opportunities.

The challenge now is to notice those ideas and opportunities and to bring them to life.

Cheers
Rick

Hi Rick,

Money is just a means to an end. If you think about it, money loses its value over time. When the government prints more cash, it depreciates in value even further. So the focus on money alone is misplaced.

It’s ideas that are abundant. We also want to create meaning in life. The thing is to pick the idea that will make gold by creating and manifesting its meaning through the use of our creative abilities.

Abundance always,
Evelyn

Hi Evelyn,
I loved this article. We do have the capacity to live abundantly and our belief is the key that opens the door. Your tips are fabulous and really hit home. Thank you for explaining this concept so well! I let go of my “security blanket” and am in free fall, but I do believe I’m going to land just as gently as a feather now that I’m focusing on doing what I love and allowing my ideas to flow.

I really like your thoughts on the importance of getting to root causes. It’s not dwelling on the past at all, I think that by not looking back and figuring out the catalyst for your bad experiences and feelings is actually dwelling on the past! It has to be done if you really want to learn from past experiences and realize how bright the future is, and that’s what it’s all about. Great post Evelyn!

My own journey into abundance was often stifled with all sorts of negative thoughts about the very thing I “thought” I wanted!

I would struggle and strain to make more money… always feeling stressed and in a general state of lack. Attracting, of course, more stress and a general state of lack!

It’s only when I consciously directed my thoughts to the abundance I was already swimming in that I found more… and more… and still more. Now it’s an inexhaustible supply… and it always was.

My life is now lived in a state of ever expanding abundance. I spend my time helping others grow personally and professionally. The journey contains many twists and turns… yet I remain a happy traveler!
