I’ve been shy and reserved for the longest time, since childhood. I was brought up in a typical Chinese family and seldom encouraged to speak up nor take up outdoor activities.
It took me several years to realise that I needed to break out from my shell. I sought to confront my fears, which were many and self-limiting. Even till today, I continue to seek and defy any self-imposed negativity or unfounded fears that I can’t do it.
Well, read this truly inspiring article Boldness has genius, power and magic in it by Lieven Van de Vel that was recently posted on my article directory…..
Here’s an interesting quote of W.H. Murray, from the Scottish Himalayan Expedition. Read it carefully.
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation) there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe’s couplets: Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.”
For those who wish to try something different, such as setting up your own home business, go for your dreams! It may be a struggle initially, but if you are determined, motivated and focused, success will come a-knocking!
