I’ve been guilty of this, I know. Perhaps being the typical Singaporean “kia-su” also have a large part to play. “Kia-su” is a local colloquial term about being “scared to die”.
What have I been been guilty of? That one becomes so single minded in the pursuits of an end goal that one forgets that it is the journey that matters most. It seemed that way when I was in school. In the pursuit of the many paper qualifications, there were other aspects of life that I failed to appreciate.
Things are a little different now. I’m learning to slow down. To smell the flowers on the side. I’ve also taken the path less trodden by starting a business online. There are no exact roadmaps to be taken, considering the various ways to make it on the web, but at least I know I’m enjoying myself.
