5 Money Gremlin Stories: How You Have Been in Self-Sabotage

money gremlin sabotage situations

By paying too much attention to your money gremlin stories, you sabotage your plans for prosperity. At the soul level, all of us are gifted with the blueprint for abundance and success. Yet, this individual blueprint can become corrupted by the negative voice inside your head.

“Through consistent sabotage, your Money Gremlin stops you from becoming your best self and aligning with your highest potential.”

Money Gremlin Sabotage SelfFor easy understanding, your Money Gremlin is the psychological personification of your limiting beliefs and negative emotions around finances. A Money Gremlin that has free rein is going to lay siege of your mind. You become sieged by  limitation and lack. Over time, these money gremlin stories get programmed subconsciously (out of your awareness).

You may have a dream or financial plan. You would like to play big. However, when you are in sabotage, you undertake actions or behavior that are subversive or put you off-course. This creates a situation whereby you either find yourself stuck or progress slow.

Your sabotaging thoughts or stories affect your emotions, which in turn also influence your actions. These are the signals that you also put out to the universe. According to the Law of Attraction, like attracts like. If you are facing lack in your financial situations, then you are vibrating limitation in the first place.

5 Money Gremlin Stories that Could Have Caused Self-Sabotage

(1) I can’t make money.

Your thought probably goes like this: I would like to have more than enough but I can’t make more than what I am earning now.

Maybe it is because you believe that you are not capable or intelligent. Perhaps your reason is because you are lacking some qualifications or certification. Whatever it is, you believe that it is hard for you to achieve a certain standard of living. You just don’t feel worthy enough to ask for a reasonable amount of money in exchange for services that you have rendered.

(2) I can’t have lots of money.

Your thought goes like this: I would like to have money but I can’t have lots of it.

You could be putting yourself in the way because you believe that being rich is evil and that you would like to be known as spiritual. Or you may believe that by having more, it may mean increased responsibility or that it creates attachment. And so, you reject the notion of having “too much” money. Consequently, you don’t take the actions necessary for greater wealth.

(3) I can’t manage money.

Your thought goes like this: I would like to earn an income of X dollars a year but since I am a poor money manager (all that comes in goes out anyway), I may as well not have more.

You believe that you cannot handle money well. Perhaps you know by now that you have no problem making money. However, it is managing money that stumps you. Despite your attempts, you can hardly balance your accounts. You fear the additional responsibility tied to money matters should you ever have more. You fear getting overwhelmed. Hence, you would rather not have excess money (after paying off your expenses) to manage.

(4) I can’t grow money.

Your thought goes like this: I would like to have more money but since I need money to make money, I can’t get started because I don’t have enough.

You don’t believe that you can grow your bank balance. You also do not believe that you have the ability and the resources to make investments that will make money working hard for you. You just don’t know how to begin or where to start. Hence, you see little reason why you should make a savings and investment plan.

(5) I can’t accept money.

Your thought goes like this: I would like enough money but I can’t accept or receive it. You could be having this sabotaging thought because you may have certain mistaken beliefs about giving and receiving.

Thus, by having the sabotaging thought, you become closed to receiving. And even if the universe sends blessings or opportunities your way, you are not going to recognize these. Any time when someone mentions money, you start to cringe.

Tips to Overcome Sabotage in Your Money Gremlin Stories

Obviously, it is not helpful to be in a place of sabotage. Yet, it is a very common experience with most of us. It is often said that we are our greatest enemy.

With sabotage, we undermined our own efforts. Our illusions become real. We are not able to step up and be our best self. As we identify more and more with our stories of lack and limitation, our vibrational state lowers. We find ourselves attracting more lack and limitation. We become out-of-sync with our highest path and purpose.

Here are some tips for you:
1. Become aware of any sabotaging thoughts.
2. Do not let these obstruct you.
3. Realign with prosperity consciousness.
4. Allow yourself to tap into the unlimited flow of universal abundance.

You are being true to yourself, by desiring to express yourself fully in the world. Your divine blueprint does involve living up to your highest potential, thereby expanding your capacity to fully participate in life (which translates to abundance). Money is simply a tool for participation and an outcome of your engagement.

Aah those stories we tell ourselves Evelyn. Since we’re making this stuff up anyway…we might as well make up something really great. 🙂

Evelyn,

Great post. I think what really caught me is to acknowledge these sabotaging stories. My tendency is to just ignore them as if they don’t exist, but perhaps this is not helping the situation. I like the idea of coming to terms with them if you’re thinking of them, and then moving from that place to make a difference. Nicely done. Thanks so much for this article. 🙂

It’s subtle yet powerful how these negative beliefs can permeate so many areas of our lives, not just money. Examining the results of our beliefs (what is or isn’t in our lives now) can help to uncover which of these beliefs we’re dealing with.
