Expand Your Energy: Go Beyond Your Comfort Zone

“A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.” Denis Waitley

out of comfort zone

Heard of the saying, “If you do what you always did, you will get what you always got.”

Up to this point, you have attracted all that you have as a result of your vibrational state. However, if you are hoping for more, you need to embody the Being state that will attract more. In the physical dimension, this could mean that you have to undertake actions that feel like a stretch…until you are the embodiment of the expanded state.

In short, go beyond your comfort zone.

Does this mean that you have to do the things that you dislike doing?

Does this mean that you have to engage in public speaking even if you have no plans to go on stage?

Well, yes and no.

The idea behind going beyond your comfort zone is to challenge yourself to Be more.

Being more involves losing your fears, setting aside your resistances and stepping up to a new challenge. You can choose to do public speaking or you can join a triathlon for the very first time. If your vision is a big one (eg. such as impacting thousands of lives), chunking down the steps into smaller activities that bring you into closer alignment with a higher vibrational state is an excellent idea. The activity chosen should allow you to work through your fears for an energetic breakthrough.

In a more expanded state, you raise your frequency; which enables you to attract outcomes that are aligned with your intention. Usually, outcomes that are positive have a higher frequency. As a guide, you may refer to the Map of Consciousness by David Hawkins in his book, Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior, author’s Official Revised Edition.

Obviously, it is best to choose the most appropriate activity if there is an energetic quality that you wish to embrace. So if you are working on courage, public speaking may be the activity that is most aligned. On the other hand, if you are working on perseverance, it may just be a triathlon that you join.

My Own Experiences

I have taken on activities that stretched my comfort zone in the past. These activities invited me to embrace courage, shatter limiting thoughts and be more. I went diving, sailing, windsurfing. Years ago, I flew alone to Alaska despite feeling jittery about the long journey. For the most part, the fear I had about being “lost in transit” was irrational.

In the more recent past, I worked on offering strategy calls, went on national radio interviews and so on. The thing is I still cringe whenever I recall some of them. It happens when my inner gremlin kicks in with a host of self-criticism. However, in my more aware state, I give myself a pat on the back for daring to do things beyond my comfort zone 🙂

Of course, I would not have ventured into these activities without a shift at the mental level. I believe that all these helped me to attract more and more joyful experiences. I must be sending out positive signals to the universe! In fact, I have been delighted at some of the unexpected surprises. For instance, late last year, a Japanese broker approached me on buying over the Japanese rights to my book, Self-Love Secrets: How to Love Yourself Uncondtionally. While I had not specifically intended to reach out into Japan, I nonetheless held the vision of making a difference to the lives of people all over the world. Well, the translated version was published in December in Japan and I have just received printed copies of it – yayyyy!

Going beyond our comfort zone has to happen at a time when there is a willingness to step up. It first involves a paradigm and a wanting to be more. Alchemy can only take place when there is alignment across all levels (spiritual, mental, emotional and physical). Manifestation of your desired outcome occurs where there is alignment integration.

Next Steps

1. Identify what it is that you would like to experience physically. Maybe it is more money, ideal clients, career advancement.

2. Become aware of the associated energetic quality that you would like to embrace.

3. Challenge yourself to take on activities that will help you to align with that quality.

4. Go beyond your comfort zone and step up!
