How To Create Magic Every Single Day

Magic commands a mystical force that brings about change. It has the transformative power to turn our dreams into reality. Like the puff from a powerful dragon, magic breathes hope to situations of helplessness. It leaves a trail of twinkling stars in the wave of a golden wand. Within an instant, a moment touched by magic is changed forever.

How to Create Magic

Think back to your childhood. Think about the times when you have been enchanted with bedtime stories of Peter Pan, Cinderella and Merlin. Think back about the times when your eyes widened with curiosity, excitement and triumph when the hero uses his or her magical powers to conquer the enemy. Transformation is magical because change happens almost immediately.

On the other extreme, many people think of magic as the use of supernatural powers. Some do not like the idea about the use of magic because the thought stretches their imagination and requires them to reach beyond their comfort zone. While magic can be used for positive transformation, it can also be used to do the opposite too. Historically performed in secrecy, magic is shunned by conventional society. The Harry Potter series also alludes to this.

As we grow old, we lose our beliefs in the power of magic. We realize that there is no such thing as manifesting something out of thin air like what we see in the movies. The tedium of our everyday lives rob us of our child-like quality; one of wonder, possibility and openness.

For a long time, I was cynical, suspicious and melancholy. Demanding that all evidence has to be supported by my five senses, I lost the intuitive connection with my heart that there could be much more beyond all that is material. I tried to grasp to all that was known but eventually had to open my arms in surrender.

I have come a long way since then in my understanding of what magic is. I choose to view magic as the art of turning an ordinary moment into an extraordinary one and that it is possible to experience more everyday magic in our lives. Magic in this case is applied with a positive intention. If magic is the art of turning a moment positively, then it is possible to experience more joy, laughter and love.

Just imagine experiencing each day as one of dreariness. You feel depleted, in the lack and deprived. You leak energy. There is not much hope to live for. You are just going through the motions. Identify with this scenario? Well, magic can change that.

If you are hoping to enjoy more aliveness in your moments, take heed. The following are some ways of how you can start to enjoy more magic:

Alter Your Perception

“The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” – Marcel Proust

You do not have to climb the highest mountain or go to an ashram for a month-long meditation retreat for experiencing magical moments. Simply changing your perception will do the trick. You view things as half-full instead of half-empty. It is possible to have a new set of eyes right this instant. You world suddenly changes. It takes on color, dimension and vibrancy.

Live in the Moment

“If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change. ” – Buddha

You do not have to look far, just being present fully allows you an awakening experience. If you can appreciate just a tiny part of nature completely, you would have experienced a miracle. It happens when your consciousness merge with a singular flower into eternity in an instant. You become one with the flower that moves gently in the breeze.

Transform with Joy

“The Universe is responding to your vibrational calling.” – Abraham Hicks

If you want to experience more magic in your life, then you will need to infuse your moments with joy. Just think about what usually happens when magic takes place. We hold back our breaths and as we witness the transformation that magic brings, we shift into delight, bliss and joy.

Infusing joy can be made in a variety of ways such as singing out loud, saying yes to a new adventure and dancing on the streets. The idea is to capture the positive feelings of bliss and joy. With sustained joy and by virtue of the Law of Atrtraction, you attract the vibrational match of the same in your desired outcomes.

Practice Gratitude

“I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.” – G.K. Chesterton

Try expressing gratitude and see if your vibrational state changes. You should experience an uplift. Reflect over the many things to be grateful about. You may also want to list down the things that you are appreciative for. For more information and if you are interested, read this article on How to start a gratitude journal.

Live with Passion

“Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.” – Oprah Winfrey

When you live passionately, everything works like magic. Living with passion usually happens when you love what you do. You are able to create meaning from the work you produce. By aligning with your true self, you become a force of inspiration. Others are drawn to you. Inevitably, life becomes smoother. You know yourself as a co-creator, manifesting your heart’s desires powerfully.

Make Your Moments Magical

It is really up to you. You have the power to choice differently in how you perceive things. If you believe in magic, then you will see miracles everywhere. You live with greater excitement, possibility and are open to receiving.

There is no better time than now. Christmas is a great occasion for making your moments magic. After all, it is a period of festivity, love and celebration. The twinkling lights on the streets, fairy sightings on cone-shaped trees, and stories of a man in the red-suit that traverse the skies in a reindeer-drawn sleigh add to mystic. Not to mention, the secret gifts that you have purchased and carefully wrapped for your loved ones.

So true Evelyn. When we were kids anything and everything was possible but often as we get older in life the daily routines make us become dull.

Being in a state of passion is what helps me to be creative.

Hi Evelyn,
Thank you for sharing *magic* and some wonderful tips on how to cultivate it.
My life is as magical as I allow it to be! Within my life, it is my ability to see the beauty around me, and feel gratitude for all that is in the moment–even if that moment is not what I ‘wanted’ it to be. Impossible is absolutely possible, when we invest energy into it; we are capable of far more than we can imagine, when we believe that to be true.

Hi Stacy,

It is true that the pressures of modern life can potentially suck energy out of anyone. However, if we stay alert to this and maintain our focus on the wonder, possibility and joy from a more positive perceptive, life changes for us.

To more magic and miracles,
Evelyn

Hi Evelyn,

So True, there are so many magical moments in life. Children see them every day happening, but as adults have learnt to not see them anymore.

Everything is a miracle, or nothing is a miracle. It is our choice to be able to perceive them – or not.

Thanks for sharing

Hi marc,

I am glad that you agree with me that it is really our choice on whether or not to perceive more miracles in our life. Most certainly, children experience more magic than many of us adults do.

Hi Evelyn,
I loved this post. I can relate to it 100 percent. I believed in magic when I was a kid. I truly believed that if I “wished” for something hard enough I could make it come true. I would “visualize” it happening in my mind over and over….and over until sometimes the things I wished for would manifest. I had no idea what I was doing, but I kept doing it. Then in my early 20s I heard about “manifesting and attraction.” I had such an epiphany! That was my “magical” moment. I “knew” I had found the “magic” I believed to be there all my life. It was really life altering. Thank you for sharing this inspiring post.
Big hugs to you,
Angela

Hello Angela,

It is wonderful to hear that you have been practicing visualizing and believing in the power of magic since you were a kid. And how awesome it is that you have had such an epiphany. Your soul has certainly incarnated in no better than this. Many people are awakening in consciousness during this period, and you are just in time to help in Earth’s development.

Thank you for your lovely feedback 🙂

The Vizier - December 7, 2011 Reply

Hi Evelyn,

Real magic is somewhere between the transformative magic we believed in and supernatural power. This in any case is the magic that is relevant to our daily lives. In it is within our ability to turn an ordinary moment into an extraordinary one. And to do so, we have to take follow the tips you shared.

For me perception of the world around us is one of the most vital things in life. A glass half-full or half-empty may sound simple or a play on words. But it is this ability to alter the way we perceive things that turns something bad into something good.

I also think that being grateful for what we have is important. All too often it is easy to focus on things that go wrong or what we lack instead of appreciating what we have. By being grateful, we remind ourselves of the joys that are already present in our lives.

I just want to add that it is also important to have a vision in life. With that vision which we work towards, our life’s journey becomes magical.

Thank you for sharing this lovely article!

Yes…magic, beauty, wonder, curiosity…we all lived as kids connected with “all there is”… where has that gone? It is still inside each of us, just been stewed away from all the “do’s, don’ts” of left brain, logic heavy, “prove it to me first- thinking”; all of the “have to’s” of the so called “real world”. I would recommend laughter, playing, making a mess…being a kid. Children give us a great opportunity for “permission” to be one again…to open our eyes and minds and hearts again, to enter into this world, the world of our heart, of our knowing, of our boldness, humility, courage and connection…what would our world be like if we could live from our hearts?

Hello Tim,

I enjoyed reading your comment tremendously. It made me recall about the rackets that I have with my children while playing and making a mess. There is a lot that my children has taught me.

Oh yes, I love your question: what would our world be like if we could live from our hearts?

I think one of the most effective things we can consistently do is write our story forward. We are the author of our lives and we can shape our destiny.

It doesn’t even have to be grandiose. It can be as simple as turning a routine chore into a chance to master your craft.

One empowering question that I think quickly helps us tap our creative juices and own how we show up is: “Who do you want to be and what experiences do you want to create?”

Simply asking that question, starts the process.

Hello J.D,

I love what you said about writing our stories forward. We really need to ask ourselves: what scripts do we wish to write? All scripts big and small can be turned into one of empowerment, courage, love and inspiration. And as you’ve said, it can be as simple as making meaning out of a routine chore.

The questions that you have shared are very powerful ones indeed.

Abundance always,
Evelyn
