Self-Care Healing: Give Yourself Permission

“Self-care is not self-indulgence. It is essential for your well-being. With self-care, you give yourself the sacred permission to be well.”

I had a bad fall last week. It resulted in multiple visits to the clinic for X-rays, reviews and check up. It was not the physical injury that shook me most, but the emotional trauma. For a while, I was also angry with myself for being so careless.

To begin with, I was frustrated over having to spend unnecessary money, time and attention. I did not like the idea of having to reschedule all my appointments and having to delay my work plans. I started off by lying in bed, caught in self-pity. My inner critic went: so much for being advocate of self-care and an author of a Self-Love book!

Luckily, I was aware of what was going on internally, and I knew I had to stop beating myself up. Adding salt to the wound is certainly not going to help expedite my recovery. On the contrary, I should be counting my blessings that I was not seriously hurt and to embrace my healing in self-love and care.

Self-Care Steps For Sacred Healing

“The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind.” Caroline Myss

It took me more than a day of lying in bed before I could turn to energy healing tools such as EFT and Reiki. With the rescheduling of appointments, I was able to take a mini-meditation retreat in my bedroom too.

I worked on releasing my anger and frustration. I connected with divine energy flow to aid in healing my physical wounds. For support, I also turned to Young Living Essential Oils: Lavender, Peace & Calming, Transformation™, Trauma Life™ and Juva Cleanse. I experienced an uplift soon after.

I was exercising in the night when I had the bad fall. Hoping to push myself, I had deliberately ignored my tiredness. Well, the accident happened because I experienced a lapse in clarity and did not pay attention to what I was doing. Lesson learnt! And come to think of it, don’t many accidents happen in the same manner too?

Permission for Self-Care

Although I am up and about, I have decided to give myself the permission to take a blogging break. I will be back in August.

If you are reading this post, you may like to ask yourself if you are due for some self-care too. May I recommend having my book Self-Love Secrets or meditation program Self-Love Healing, as excellent companions while you are resting. Take care!

Love and abundance always,

The universe certainly know when to give us a lesson in self love so we can be stronger to share our message Thanks for sharing as it massed me realise just how much I have moved more into self cared and away beating up on Suzie 🙂
I know exactly whet you went through. Need gentle with yourself and see this being a tuned to grow as well as too heal. Sending youth love and healing energy to heal and no more exercising when bed would be z better option.
S sending you healing love xx ps love the Carolyn Myss quote

I’m sorry to hear about your fall, Evelyn. But I do understand what you went through. Sometimes we need more than a gentle nudge to start taking better care of ourselves.
Be nice to you, now! 🙂

Enjoy your blogging break Evelyn and kudos to you for giving yourself the nurturing you need. I too love YL essential oils they’re soooo good, especially diffusing around the house. Mmmm. Hoping you’re feeling so much better now. 🙂

Hi Elle,

Thank you for your love and well wishes.

The doctor could not even detect what is wrong, even though I still experience some pain after 2 weeks. And so, I have been using YL oils to help alleviate physical symptoms from the fall. The oils have been helpful!

Hope to be back soon!

Love and blessings,
Evelyn
