Billionaire Song: Sing Yourself To Wealth

Dreaming about wanting to be a Billionaire sounds like a fun thing to do, when you are visualizing being on the cover of Forbes magazine, smiling next to Oprah, and talking to the President. And it now all comes in a song by Travie Mccoy. I first heard the Billionaire song two days ago on radio while driving my daughter to her art class and found myself liking its easy reggae beat.

What is best about the song, obviously, is its lyrics which resonates with the ideas of visualizing. So I thought I would publish the official music video that goes along with the song – which was only recently released – in my post today. Listen to it if you have not done so……it is likely to make you smile….

I Wanna Have A Lot of Hair

Now what if you are not hoping to be a Billionaire? You decidedly declare that you no dreams of financial freedom? Perhaps you are hoping to grow more hair instead! Watch this spoof instead….the video has garnered over 750,000 views!!!

I Wanna Be A Billionaire Song Lyrics

Like the song? The song was co-written and produced together with Bruno Mars. Here are the lyrics to it….

[Bruno Mars] I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen

[Chorus] Oh every time I close my eyes
I see my name in shining lights
A different city every night oh
I swear the world better prepare
For when I’m a billionaire

[Travis “Travie” McCoy] Yeah I would have a show like Oprah
I would be the host of, everyday Christmas
Give Travie a wish list
I’d probably pull an Angelina and Brad Pitt
And adopt a bunch of babies that ain’t never had sh-t
Give away a few Mercedes like here lady have this
And last but not least grant somebody their last wish
Its been a couple months since I’ve single so
You can call me Travie Claus minus the Ho Ho
Get it, hehe, I’d probably visit where Katrina hit
And damn sure do a lot more than FEMA did
Yeah can’t forget about me stupid
Everywhere I go Imma have my own theme music

[Chorus] Oh every time I close my eyes
I see my name in shining lights
A different city every night oh
I swear the world better prepare
For when I’m a billionaire
Oh oooh oh oooh for when I’m a Billionaire
Oh oooh oh oooh for when I’m a Billionaire

[Travis “Travie” McCoy] I’ll be playing basketball with the President
Dunking on his delegates
Then I’ll compliment him on his political etiquette
Toss a couple milli in the air just for the heck of it
But keep the fives, twentys (?) completely separate
And yeah I’ll be in a whole new tax bracket
We in recession but let me take a crack at it
I’ll probably take whatevers left and just split it up
So everybody that I love can have a couple bucks
And not a single tummy around me would know what hungry was
Eating good sleeping soundly
I know we all have a similar dream
Go in your pocket pull out your wallet
And put it in the air and sing

[Bruno Mars] I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen
[Chorus] I wanna be a billionaire so frickin bad!

Hello Sandhan,

What a lovely surprise! Welcome to my blog! Thank you for your positive feedback. I am very appreciative of the support I receive. While I blog because I am passionate about the things I write about, the support that I gather from my readers is always very validating!

I tend to keep my options open. When things appear in the horizon, I always check with my guides before proceeding.

I am happy that you love the song! Go ahead and publish it. I don’t have the authority to give any kind of approval anyway. However, I am sure that the singer will appreciate your help in spreading the word 🙂

This song is soooo cool! I like it a lot.

Creating wealth in a fun and inspiring manner, hmmm I think it’s all about knowing yourself and what your passion is. From there that is when you create the fun part and you will be inspiring at the same time.

If you don’t like what you do and you are not passionate about it then you will not become wealthy. You may become rich but not wealthy which are two different things.

Thanks for this video, will be listening to it everyday!

Hello Anna,

I like what you said about knowing yourself and what your passion is. When we are passionate, others are inspired by our drive, enthusiasm and love.

Listen to the song everyday? Wowww…!!

Have a fun day!

One thing I have learned from experience is that the Buddha was right – attachment and expectation lead to suffering. The problem with ‘wanting to be a billionaire so f***ing bad’ is that it’s a kind of attachment – it matters, and I reckon that the more something matters, the more we push it away. I have found that when I stop trying, give in, submit to the changing and uncontrollable currents of life, that things start to work in surprising and magical ways.

Evelyn Reply:

Hello Mark,

I don’t disagree that when the attachment is strong, it leads to suffering. It is a balance that one has to take – strong desire in our dreams but yet letting them go – trusting and having faith that things will work out beautifully and in alignment with our highest path and purpose – and even while we have a vision on the future that we like to built, making peace with each moment.

I don’t expect all these to be explained in a song. Yes, I did find the words a little strong in that one line. But other than that, it is about having fun in daydreaming. It certainly helped me with a laugh the first time I heard it. Maybe I have learned to take things less seriously. So while I don’t use these words usually in my conversation, I can see that the song can have a positive uplifting effect in its other qualities.

It’s wonderful to know someone who has found great benefits in “submitting to the changing and uncontrollable currents of life”. Thank you for sharing your experience!!

With love,
Evelyn

Hi Evelyn,

That was really cute and I sent out the link on facebook. I always get your updates via e-mail so I don’t always get the chance to come by for a comment here but had to today to tell you that listening to that first thing in the morning was a delightful smile.

I get what Mark is saying…but…nothing in the song was attached to the HOW, it was just an intention sent out into the universe, with positive desire to bless the world with financial peace and happiness, something that so many of can relate too as we watch the hardship and suffering brought on by poverty in this world. As long as we sit back and do not be attached to the how and let life show us the path and do not fight it, I do not think looking toward abundance of any kind is wrong.

Either way, the song is fun and brings joy. That in itself is awesome.

Evelyn Reply:

Hello Wendi,

Thank you for sharing your perspective about the song. I share the same thoughts with you too.

There is nothing “wrong” about desiring for abundance. Only with desires can intentions get activated. To acknowledge our desires is to honor our human innate needs to create a better life for ourselves. The issue is “how” we interpret what a better life is. Also, the issue is in that honoring of our desires, we may become so attached to them that we create suffering instead of joy.

Like you, I am just taking the song for how I perceive it to be: fun in daydreaming! And going on to the second video about wanting to grow hair adds more humor to the mix!

With joy,
Evelyn

Hi Evelyn – This is a fun song and I think it cheers people up during the recession. It’s amazing that it ranks number one for billionaire on youtube already. Makes me wonder if singing on youtube would be a good way to promote our blogs.

Evelyn Reply:

Hello Cath,

Want to try singing on youtube for your blog? Guess we won’t know until we test out the idea!

Have an awesome week,

Evelyn,
LOL–I’m sure I won’t be singing on youtube for my blog..but I did dance by the boat with the kids to add some fun to a post…and I had to post it on youtube for my blog to accept it…*grin*….
I agree with you, the song is fun, it’s catchy, and it’s brought abundance to this artist’s life…so it’s definitely “visionary”.

Evelyn Reply:

Hello Joy,

You sound like you dance on your boat everyday!! Your kids must have enjoyed themselves too. I just love your energy 🙂

I think that really is the key — baking fun into everything we do. If it’s not fun, it won’t last … or if it lasts without fun, that sounds like a personal prison 😉

Exactly, J.D!!

Fan-Tastic! Evelyn, thank you so much for this. I’ve been posting for a while now on how celebrities and pop culture really do understand LoA + visualization + intention-manifestation, and this is just perfect. My usual go to is Jay-Z (I highly recommend his track Young Forever, for youth-visualization), and I’m so happy to add this Travie McCoy track 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

Evelyn Reply:

Hello Jason,

Was over at your site just now to check out Jay-Z. Love the “Young Forever” song!

love it Evelyn,
I must have missed this post- I love the song and also the power of song. As you say it is a great reggae rhythm. Does make me want to dance. Something I have taken to doing with Sonia Choquette’s Great Adventure each morning at the beach. Also the more I sing ( practise) the more in tune I think I become.
It is a great way to start the day- thanks for another inspiring post.

Evelyn Reply:

Hi Suzie,

You lucky gal – to be staying on the beach!! How wonderful to be dancing and singing in beautiful surroundings! Glad to hear that you like the song and its reggae beat!
