5 Possible Outcomes From Battling Money Woes

Money Woes

Are money woes causing you to react in a way that affects your overall wellness even more?

I have observed some common outcomes that my clients and friends – those with money struggles – report to having. Their money woes might not have started out as something huge – in the big picture of things. Yet, a number of them felt that they “cannot take it”. They experienced emotional reactions that caused them to take on irrational behavior or unwise actions.

Eventually, their behavior and actions made the situation worse. Their money woes soon became bigger. Their problems became a lot harder to deal with.

I lost a dear friend who took his own life. It was money issues that contributed a large part to his depression. Although he was not the reason why I decided to specialize with helping others deal with their money struggles a year on, his encounters certainly gave me a lot of food for thought on how financial triggers could end dramatically.

I celebrate his life and the meaning that his friendship has brought for me. It just might have been his spirit nudging me to wake up to write this article first thing in the morning.

5 Possible Outcomes from Having Money Woes

Well, if you are facing financial insecurity right now, ask yourself if you are experiencing any of the following:

1. Bad Financial Decisions and Behavior. Mostly, people start out by feeling anxious. While a certain level of anxiety is understandable, problems result when the worrying becomes unmanageable. It happens when they cannot see that their problem is not as bad it appears to be. Instead of focusing on what they have, their mind focuses on “not having”. And as you know, by the laws of energy – what you focus on, expands.

Outwardly, you may even undertake behavior that is fueled by greed, fear and desperation. These actions could include gambling, racking up huge debts, punting the market or even subconscious-driven behavior (for instance, causing an accident that cannot be covered by insurance claims). You find yourself leaking more money.

2. Sleep Issues. Insomnia is a common occurrence of those whose minds who cannot rest. If you suffer from insomnia from having money woes, you may find yourself feeling tired but yet, unable to sleep. Nighttime soon becomes something frightening to face. Clients report to reaching for sleeping pills, a solution that I prefer not to recommend for a prolonged period of time. You can end up being addicted and using the pills as a crutch.

Just as bad, are those who choose to sleep the whole day but who could not bring themselves to do what is necessary to get out of their money struggles. Their thoughts go like this, “maybe I can just sleep my problems away”, or “the problems may just disappear when I wake up”. They desperately pray that their creditors will no longer hound them. Well, avoiding the issue is not going to solve their heartache. In fact, the more delaying tactics they employ, the more their debts will snowball.

3. Social Withdrawal. Understandably, anyone with money struggles would prefer not to meet relatives and friends. If you are in this situation, you are probably experiencing a sense of shame. You perceive yourself as useless and hence, you believe that you are not able to face the world. You just do not like the idea of being viewed pitifully. And so you shun all social engagements.

Worse if you have to face a critical parent. You cannot imagine what your parent is going to say if he or she ever finds out about your dire situation. In many ways, you feel as if you have failed them. After all, you know that you have not lived up to their expectations. The voice in your head screams, “what a loser you are!”

Wanting to withdraw socially is understandable. However, it may not be the best thing to do especially when you are on the lookout for jobs or financial opportunities to improve your situation. God may have sent you resources in the form of your friends, in response to your prayers – but you have failed to recognize his help.

4. Violent Behavior. Those with repressed anger report to having violent thoughts over feeling threatened about their livelihood. These are the ones who blame the economy, the government, the organization or just about anyone whom they feel responsible for their plight. They feel extremely unjustly treated and they seek some equitable resolution.

If the repressed anger is not addressed sufficiently, the consequences can be dire. You threaten your health, and you could be at the risk of endangering the lives of others when you harbor violent thoughts. You may just end up in a bigger mess.

5. Depression and/or Suicide. If any early symptoms of anxiety are not resolved but allowed to fester, you are likely to feel worse and worse over a long period. You experience the debilitating emotions of frustration, anger, blame, jealously, dread and misery. Depression can result. Thoughts of suicide are not uncommon for those in this state.

Do contact your local helpline immediately if you are feeling suicidal. Look out for the 10 Warning Signs of Depression. Note that suicide does not solve the root cause of the issue. If you have any understanding about energy bodies, then you will know that unresolved emotional disruptions are stored in your astral body. Your astral body does not dissolve when you die. It remains with you over lifetimes.

Your unresolved emotional disruptions get mirrored to you in presenting life situations. There is every chance that you will have to live through the consequences of not addressing any deep-rooted emotional issues. Thus, I recommend dealing with any constant feelings of anxiety, frustration, anger, and any unresolved trauma.  Learn how you can clear money blocks here.

Address Your Money Woes Early

“Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver.” Ayn Rand

Money struggles on the outside merely highlight the issues that you have internally. If you are held back by a disempowering money story, know that it is always better to deal with your issues early enough. Struggle is optional and really not necessary.

Nip your issues in the bud. It is your sense of identity, beliefs and emotions that influence your actions and behavior, thus resulting in a certain set of external outcomes. In other words, solve the mystery of your money woes energetically at your subconscious.

Each positive step that you take towards releasing your money woes early helps. All the best!

Love and abundance always,

Hi Evelyn,

I have been there in just about every way. Wow. So sorry to hear about your friend but as noted he nudged you to write too, to help others from meeting such a fate.

The biggest challenge is to move from a feeling of scarcity to abundance. For me I begin listing all forms of wealth outside of money; health, traveling, my family, etc…..doing so inspired me to feel wealthy and improve my relationship with money.

Thanks for sharing!

Hello Ryan,

Thanks for your feedback and sharing. Your tip on making a list is an excellent one. Writing them down is helpful as a reminder in our practice of gratitude. And the feeling of gratitude is key to abundance!

May you always be abundant,

Thank you for your article. I am married with four school-aged children. I was having anxiety attack over how to get through this holiday season and keep up with our bills. Although we both work everyday without any vacation for few years, we can’t catch up at all. I get so depressed and feel I’m just working to maintain. I thought about dying, but that would not protect my kids but to harm them emotionally and financially.
I’m trying to read up articles like yours and teach myself to relax.
I need to count my blessings, starting with our health to be able to go to work everyday to do what I like the most, cooking.
I’m still afraid, but I need to keep going on to be a great example of life no matter what it throws at you.
