Call My Dial-A-Life-Coach Hotline

In case you have been trying to contact me by telephone, please know that I do not usually take calls when I am busy writing. So if you should try calling me, you are going to hear a voice that tells you I am not available. In fact, my latest recorded auto attendant message to my Dial-A-Life-Coach hotline goes like this….

My Dial-A-Life-Coach Hotline

“I am sorry that I am not here to take your call. Should you have an urgent matter, here is what you can do to help yourself –

Life Tip: Challenge Your Assumptions

Are your windows on the world clear or clouded? Now, unless you are enlightened, they are probably clouded. Your windows are clouded because of your preconceived judgments. You develop judgments or frames of assumptions as a result of past experiences, conditionings and beliefs. Events in the past may be neutral but it is the meaning that you ascribe to them that determines your judgments or frames of assumptions.

Alan Ada Quote: Challenge Your Assumptions

“A peach is not its fuzz. A toad is not its warts. A person is not his or her crankiness. Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off once in a while or the light won’t come in.”
– Alan Ada

21 Role Models for Success

role models for success

Do you have a role model for success that you look up to ? An important key foundation in Neuro-linguistic Programming is modelling. To model, you emulate those who have already achieved success. You observe, analyse and then replicate the factors that contributed to the outstanding performance.

While there is no 100% guarantee that you can garner the same results, modelling helps you shorten your learning curve. You learn to avoid common mistakes and apply the essential steps and strategies that have helped your role model succeed. The idea is that it is much easier to follow a previously proven path to success.

Bells of Mindfulness

A reader, by the name of Art Gould, wrote to me and asked if he could share a useful self-help tip on mindfulness. I have always enjoyed personal empowerment techniques and was most intrigued by his email. Here is an excerpt from his message…

What a great site!  I have been reading Abundance Tapestry for over a year and have found your site to be simply awesome! Your advice has not only helped me navigate through more than a few tough situations but it has enabled me to embrace them as a part of life and learning opportunities.  Not only do you have an uncommonly well balanced perspective but you are able to communicate the ideals that guide you thereby helping and guiding others.  I especially enjoyed “Keep Holding Onto Faith“, which was such an insightful piece and a wonderful reminder that it is through falling that we learn to fly! I was actually writing today with a suggestion for a guest post.

Timeline Healing Story: A Journey Into Wisdom

I simply could not wait. I had the lights beamed me down. In the distance, I could hear The Voice. It said in a commanding voice, “Don’t get down yet!!”

But it was too late! I was in a hurry. I was drawn to travel to this place ever since my spacecraft took flight. The lights beamed me down. I was out in the open. On a hill. My spacecraft hovered above, treacherously low.

No Such Thing as Failure; Only Feedback

Now that you have recognized that perhaps some of your difficulties thrown onto your path are part of a Divine curriculum (from previous posts such as Master Your Life Lessons), you may put yourself in a state of review. In your analysis, you may be tempted to perceive yourself as a complete failure in all your “tests”; especially if you have not managed to transcend the repeated patterns.

Before you proceed to beat yourself up, consider this often quoted Neuro-Linguistic Programming supposition: There is No Such Thing as Failure, Only Feedback.

What Enneagram Type Am I?

what enneagram personality type

I was often asked this question by those who are confused: What Enneagram Type am I?

As an Enneagram Executive Coach, I’d like to offer the suggestion to first read about each of the 9 personality types that the Enneagram comprises of. Below is the follow up to the updated post on Enneagram Quiz: How Would You Cross the River.

According to the Enneagram, we have one core Personality Type. It appears that we are either born with it or that it can be the result of early nurturing. This core is home base and it doesn’t change. It describes you the most. If you are a bird, which is free to roam and to explore all other types, you always come flying home. You reside in this sector; as if it is a familiar nest.

How Would You Cross The River?

How would you cross the river? Take this Enneagram test.

Which out of the below 9-styles are you:-

ONEs approach the river from the one and only perfect place to cross.

TWOs start to cross the river, then double back to help others to cross. As they get to do this, they never get to cross themselves.

THREEs wear their best and wait at the edge until they are the center of attention. Then, they do attractive, eye-catching strokes as they cross the river.

How To Calm Down From Unresolved Anger Quickly

Is your life pretty much like a roller coaster? You may be in extreme joy one moment but in the next, your emotion comes crashing down like a tide. You practically have little control. What you feel is pretty much dictated by the experiences that life throws at you. If anything, anger is a negative emotion that you often find yourself with. Well, I can pretty much relate to the scenerio that I’ve just described; it depicted much of how my life was previously.

With introspection, one important lesson that I have come to know is that it is very possible to detach myself from anger. Before, I would be so identified with anger that I totally immerse myself in it. The more I connected with my inner feelings of hurt and frustration associated with the anger, the higher the intensity of my emotions.

Reduce Junk Food Cravings in Only 9 Minutes

I was taught how to reduce my junk food cravings in 9 minutes in a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) workshop I attended over the weekend. I thought I’d share with you this today as you can use the very same steps to eliminate the impact of negative beliefs on your mind. The method, known as “Submodalities Intervention Process”, sounds fancy, but don’t let the term scare you off! It is really quite easy and can be completed in 9 minutes or less.
